Pastor Jim Whittle & Family

Jim and Shari Whittle moved to Douglasville in 2001.  We have 5 children – Matt, Josh, Alan, Alicia, and Becca.  Matt lives in Lithia Springs, Josh lives in Sandy Springs, Alan is in the U.S. Army, and the girls are in high school.  We’re originally from Louisville, Kentucky, and met at Centre College in Danville, KY.  We married in August 1981 and moved to Atlanta for Shari to attend Emory’s Nursing School and Jim to attend Georgia Tech.  In 1984 we moved to Palm Bay, Florida for Jim to work at the Harris Corporation in the Aerospace industry while Shari practiced home healthcare.  It was there that we received our call to ministry and Jim left Engineering to work full-time at Covenant Presbyterian Church and attend Reformed Theological Seminary.  Upon graduation Jim was ordained in the PCA and in January 1993 we planted Northside Presbyterian 12 miles away in Melbourne.

We love Douglasville and it is definitely God’s grace that brought us to Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church.  Shari leads our women’s ministries and teaches part-time in our high school.  Jim coaches soccer for Douglas County Recreation.  We love the good news of the righteousness of Christ Jesus and would be happy to help you apply that gospel to any aspect of your life.  See you soon!
